Now you all know I love a stylishΒ high street bargain. While at times it can seem that only the most expensive shops have the prettiest accessories, along comes our favourite supermarkets with their trend-led homewares at exceptional prices. Oh yes, there are plenty of great items to choose from and a few months ago, I was contacted by Sainsbury’s to see if I’d like to check out their newest Spring accessories and style them in my own home. After nearly clearing out their Moroccan accessories at my local store last summer, I was eager to see the latest offerings inΒ the new SS16 range so I jumped at the chance to have a bit of styling fun with their latest Botanist collection.
My own living room is the most botanically-inspired area of my home so I used my chest of drawers with it’s bold tropical-inspired wallpaper as the setting for showing off the collection.
I have always loved the colour green (as evidenced by my olive sofa in this space and the green and raspberry theme) and who can resist a beautiful leafy cushion? Perfect for spring refresh, the two styles shown here compliment each other nicely – one which creates soft movement with palms that appear to be blowing in the breeze (it’s white piping making it look far more expensive than it’s Β£12 price tag) and another which takes it’s cues from botanical studies in a textural embroidered pattern, a steal at just Β£14.
For that well-travelled look without having to suffer from airport anxiety, this large Buddha head at just Β£25 is a statement piece and it’s large size is perfect for a balanced vignette. While it looks like stone, it’s actually quite light weight and the soft grey colour with it’s subtle pattern adds a bit of neutral texture to the whole display.
I fell in love with this stunning mirror too. I think every space benefits from a bit of black to ground it but having something in your home that incorporates a bit of pattern and texture as well is definitely a bonus. The round shape softens any harder edges in the space and the wire effect is right on trend. I love that you can see the wall through it, adding another layer of interest to a plain wall. I have a feeling that at just Β£28, they won’t last very long in store!
Of course, I love a bit of gold and the two sizes of brass and glass terraniums add a bit of glamour. The smallest hexagonal box (Β£8) as seen above is perfect for any small collection or a place to display your favourite jewellery and the larger one (Β£14) as seen below will house any smaller plants to make them a bit of a feature. I used a faux plant in mine but you can also use it for a larger candle or more traditionally as a succulent terranium and there’s even a handle if you want to hang it up.
And finally, this pretty glass etched vase in a soft green makes even the most inexpensive supermarket flowers look pretty for the bargain price ofΒ Β£12.Β I love the look of coloured glass and this is now sat on the window sill in my kitchen.Β When the sun comes through it, it absolutely glows and is a great size for making the most of Spring blooms.
The new Botanist collection is available in stores so do check out your local Sainsbury’sΒ for some fantastic bargains. I had a lot of fun pulling this together and hope you enjoyed it too! I’m also sharing their Moroccan Blue collection over on Sainsbury’s blog so do check that out as it worked so beautifully in my own bedroom.
Will Β you be checking out Sainsbury’s for new accessories this Spring? What are your favourites of this collection? I’d love to hear from you.
Disclaimer: This is a collaborative post with Sainsbury’s but as always, all words, images and opinions are my own. I only work with companies I really like and think you will too! Thanks for supporting the brands that support Swoon Worthy!
What a beautiful collection! I would love to have that mirror.
Aww thanks darling! Love that mirror as well! xx
Wow I love that mirror…….is it available online or just in store?? I love your styling and it’s given me inspiration for my dining room!! I’ve got green accessories…..just need to bring everything together somehow!! Love your posts!! X
I believe it’s only available in store! The green accessories are lovely, great quality for the price too – I was very impressed :) xx
These pieces are fab. My livingroom is very botanical so those cushions and those terrariums would be perfect. Sainsburys usually do great homeware but sadly I can never find it in my local store as it’s too small. Do you know if this stuff is available online? I wrote about one of their collections before. My readers loved it and nobody could find it in store and it wasn’t available online. Such a shame.
I believe the collection is only available in store unfortunately! I have a big one near me which is great but also a little dangerous ;) I would imagine it might be possible for the smaller stores to order anything in for you though? Or be able to tell you the closest branch that has them perhaps? Good luck!! xxx
Beautiful collection, especially liked the cushions, love your style, your kitchen has inspired me to wallpaper my shelves x
Aww thank you Jan! Yay! Happy wallpapering ;) xxx
