I am lusting after an industrial style bookshelf for my dining room.Β There’s something about the wood and iron elements that appeal to my internal Rosie the Riveter…
Oh we certainly can! |
I’d love to see one of these masculine beauties in my life…
Bearing in mind, I have no clue where I would find one within my budget, whether or not this particular fantasy actually comes true, remains to be seen. On the other hand, I can always don the rather fetching polka-dot headscarf.

Ooh rustic industrial, you're a girl after my heart! A few months ago, I saw something like that bookshelf in the first picture at Barker & Stonehouse.

All these are gorgeous! Good luck with your hunt!
Great blog :) I like the feel of some of these shelves, I have glass & chrome ones slightly in my lounge but i like the look of your vintage finds. I am about to take the plunge to move in with my partner will our tastes clash or blend well I wonder?! time will tell. Enjoy your weekend
Big fan of these too! xo
ooooh i like them all and #3 may be my favorite. in my town, there's a lack of appreciation for such stuff. an old industrial shelf would be thrown away or sold for nothing so LUCKY ME.

one way you can get a little fix is to incorporate casters into a piece you already own. wheels just make everything better, don't they? i have bought great sets on eBay for cheap and love how
Have you seen the pipe shelving on the Brick House blog? Total DIY, and if you just wanted one the size of the bookshelves above, the whole thing wouldn't cost that much money (patience is another matter…) http://www.the-brick-house.com/2009/09/shelving-unit.html
@michele…oh lucky you indeed. I have thought about incorporating casters to an existing piece but I do love the iron with wood so finding that elusive combination is a bit difficult but I live in hope!

@brooklynkate… I have actually! Amazing aren't they?! I was thinking of doing a future post on them so keep an eye out ;)
Wonderful blog & good post. Its really helpful for me, awaiting for more new post. Keep it up.
Castors
